Wall Repair and Paint Preparation

Another late start this week as the project at my job continues to get move involved. Needed an extra boost today with a large dose of caffeine from Dunkin Donuts.

I started by removing the vertical blinds on the dining room windows and uncovered a shoddy patch job that the previous owners didn't bother to fix. It was neatly hidden by the vertical blinds so even I missed it during the inspection and final walk through. The drywall on the left side of the cut was sticking out further than the drywall on the right but a couple of screws helped line them up right. There were also a ton of screw holes above the windows. I guess the previous owners had to keep trying the hard way to get a stud in order to install their blinds.

After spackling and sanding the rest of the imperfections, the wall was looking right so I continued taping off the trim all throughout the dining room and living room.

Wrapping this up for tonight, I have another fully loaded day at work tomorrow, then I can start painting afterwards.
