Master Bedroom Paint

After all the holiday festivities, international travel, settling in and day to day chaos, we're finally back at it to paint the master bedroom. This time, it's trickier since we now have furniture and moving around without bumping into things will be more of a challenge. On a good note, once the paint is dry, I can officially put together our bed frame and get the mattress and box spring off the floor. We'll be able to remove the rosin paper out of the room as well.

As tedious as it seems, prep work is always a must to make sure you don't have to do double work in the end to get the results you want. Did a quick wipe down of the walls to clean off any old dust and residue. Place rosin paper on the floors to protect it from drips and splatters (I did this prior to moving in to make sure the freshly refinished floors doesn't get messed up on moving day).

Taping off trims and sections you don't want to have overpaint is also a big help in making the process faster. Once taped and prepared, I started cutting in the detailed sections of the room where using the roller wasn't practical. Then I started from the top of the walls and worked my way down. The telescoping extension pole was a great investment and made it easier to paint the walls and ceiling rather than using a stepladder. It's universal too so you can use it for other things like a duster for cleaning your ceiling fan blades.

Bedroom one of three is officially in the books. Next up are the two other bedrooms then we can really unpack and settle in.
